Ms. Joyce

Ms. Joyce came over last week before Christmas and we talked about our research concept with her.  And she brought us a box of homemade chocolate.  What a great senior mentor!

Meeting at Copper Ridge

Today we met with the research coordinator at Copper Ridge, Larry Burrell.  We told him about our research product idea, and he had a lot of great suggestions about how our product could be used, and maybe improved.  We were really encouraged by what he had to say.  Thanks Mr. Burrell!

Our live moonbot outreach event is complete!

Today we completed our live outreach event at the NASA Goddard Visitor Center.  We will be uploading our final video soon, but special thanks to Michelle & Umar (pictured below) who helped get us setup in the conference center, as well as all of the people who stopped by to watch.  We had a great time.  All of our missions didn't work the first time, but we were able to show the kids who stopped to watch our programs how the robot works, and we even had someone ask how to get involved in FLL.  That's awesome!

Our Senior Mentor - Ms. Joyce

Today we met with our senior mentor for the first time - Ms. Joyce.   We interviewed her about what she did as a child, things that might be harder for her now that she is older, and any advice she had for us.

Working on missions

We've been working on building our new robot.  The missions have been divided up, and each of our team members are going to take two missions to program.  We've also started working on the research project.  Each of our team members has come up with questions to ask our Senior Mentor - Ms. Joyce.  We're going to meet with her next week and hopefully come up with our topic for the research project.

Visit to Goddard Visitor Center!

Nathan and Brendan went to Goddard Visitor Center today to do a site visit.  It was cool.  The rocket garden and the auditorium would both be great places to hold our live webcast.
