FLL 2011

Our First Lego League Season was a great success!

I am incredibly proud of the effort all of the team members put forth during the qualifier and the state competition.  During our first qualifier.  I couldn’t have asked for a better performance.  The Robotic Alliance scored highly in all 3 judging events..core values, the research project, and robot design.  The boys all worked as one team and the results showed!
We took home two trophies, one for best robot design, and one for best performance.
Our first robot competition round was very rough, our attempts to grab the fish failed, and all subsequent missions also ran into problems.  I know the boys were very upset, but they pulled it together to pull out highest score in round three.  All the missions they planned to do worked perfectly.  I was so proud, and so happy for them.
When we wrote down our team goals this summer, our first goal was to complete one mission and to build a robot that didn’t fall apart.  Instead we completed 7 missions and came out with a robot that won best robot design.   Congratulations guys!  All of your hard work paid off!
